Job Summary
Assist the Head Teacher in preparing and delivering daily activities by completing assigned tasks while actively participating with children during play times. Ensure premier quality and innovation in all interactions, maintaining clean-up and maintenance of toys and materials after each activity. Serve diverse communities equitably with an inclusive, anti-racist lens, promoting a brave and respectful culture. Communicate immediately any problems or concerns to the immediate supervisor and report evidence of child abuse without delay. Maintain confidentiality of information from parents, staff, and administration while attending required training hours per State law. Provide friendly, courteous assistance that builds healthy professional relationships with parents, children, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- at least 16 years old
- Previous experience working with children
- Works effectively with children, families and other staff
- Able to be certified in Connecticut Child Care, Adult & Child CPR and attain certification within 90 days of employment
- Possess good oral communication, written communication, and public speaking skills
- Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift and/or assist children up to 30 pounds in weight
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
