Job Summary
Provide instructional support to students under the supervision of a certified teacher by working one-on-one or with small groups to reinforce lessons and learning objectives. Assist in implementing lesson plans, manage classroom activities, and maintain a positive learning environment while monitoring student progress and reporting observations. Help students with assignments, classwork, and skill development, preparing instructional materials and organizing resources for those with diverse learning needs and developmental disabilities. Pass the New York State Assessment of Teaching Assistant Skills (ATAS) and possess strong planning and organizational skills. Located in Staten Island, New York; salary range $18.00 - $22.50 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Pass the New York State Assessment of Teaching Assistant Skills (ATAS)
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
