Job Summary
Supervise students, maintain classroom routines, and assist in planning activities while modeling positive behavior and work ethics. Support students with Activities of Daily Living, implement IEP goals, and document data related to BIPs and management strategies. Follow program initiatives like PBIS and PECS, accompany students on field trips and community experiences, and drive agency vehicles for outings as needed. Act as an active member of the classroom team by sharing suggestions and concerns with the teacher. Work 35 hours Monday through Friday from 8:15 to 3:15, with a preference for DD population experience and NYS certification. Join a team offering 11 weeks of paid time off, summer program participation, and staff development days.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma
- Acceptable background clearance from NY State Central Registrar
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with the DD population preferred
- NYS Teacher Assistant Certification preferred
