Job Summary
Teacher Assistant in a Therapeutic Learning Classroom supporting the teacher in instruction of students, providing academic assistance, preparing instructional materials, monitoring student progress and behavior, serving as a substitute teacher when needed, and assisting with attendance and health records. Must be willing to obtain a bus license and be prepared to substitute as a bus driver if required; role requires following teacher guidance, using classroom technology, and applying instructional strategies to help students achieve learning objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school
- Associate's degree or successful completion of 48 semester hours or score at least a level Four or higher on all three portions (Applied Math, Graphic Literacy & Workplace Documents) of the WorkKeys exam
- Possession of an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position
- Willingness and ability to obtain a bus license (and serve as substitute bus driver when needed)
