Job Summary
Assist Head Teacher in providing Developmentally and Individually Appropriate Practice (DIAP) through an integrated preschool curriculum with daily lessons and activities reflecting Head Start/state standards, parental input, and cultural diversity. Responsibilities include maintaining records per Head Start policies, setting up/supervising the learning environment (indoor/outdoor), implementing intervention and health plans, supporting positive interactions, assisting with meals, classroom management, observing/recording children’s progress (TS GOLD), conducting parent/teacher conferences and home visits, attending meetings and trainings, collaborating with families and specialists, facilitating smooth transitions, and promoting partnerships while upholding confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CDA required or active enrollment in a CDA credential program that will be completed within 2 years or hold an associate or baccalaureate degree (in any area) or active enrollment in a program leading to such a degree.
- Working knowledge of typical behaviors/expectations of three-four-year-old children.
Desired Qualifications
- One year of preschool classroom experience preferred.
