Job Summary
Support secondary adapted students with specialized instructional and management techniques while maintaining an empathetic attitude toward disabled learners. Collaborate cooperatively with students, parents, and staff to develop effective working relationships. Provide immediate assistance during emergencies by seeking and maintaining CPR, AED, and First Aid certification. Work within a 10-month secondary adapted program position requiring an RCPS-approved driving list. High school diploma or GED required; two years of college or ParaPro assessment preferred.
Required Qualifications
- ability to develop and maintain an empathetic attitude toward disabled students
- work cooperatively with others in a positive manner
- willing to learn specialized instructional/management techniques with disabled students, as needed
- willing to seek and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator(AED)/First Aid certification
- ability to communicate and develop effective working relationships with students, parents, and staff
- Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school or General Education Development Certificate (GED)
- Two years of college, 12 undergraduate credits in math/English or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment
