Job Summary
Provide instructional support and personal assistance to teachers of students with physical and intellectual disabilities in a classroom setting. Duties include assisting the teacher by performing instructional tasks, preparing classroom materials, supervising student behavior, implementing behavior modification plans, supporting language development activities, operating audiovisual equipment, collecting student data, and assisting with personal hygiene and physical care as needed. Reports to the Principal or Assistant Principal. Work is 10 months per year (187 days) at 7 hours per day. Salary scales at Scale B.1/Universal - Non-exempt Level 4; Salary Range $22.47-$25.48 per hour. Location: Leesburg, Virginia. Remote work is not eligible; in-person role. The role requires ability to lift and assist students, follow lesson plans, and collaborate with teachers and speech therapists.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience as a teacher aide or experience working with children
