Teacher Assistant: Special Education - Richard Henry Lee Elementary

Teacher Assistant in a K-2 Resource Room at a Title I school. Provides support under the direction of the classroom teacher to assist with instructional activities, supervise and instruct students with disabilities, observe and document student progress, implement plans for instruction, and assist with health care, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. Engages in extensive data collection and documentation of duties. May work 10 or 12 months depending on assignment. Essential duties include adapting activities, assisting with instructional programs and IEP goals, clerical support, mobility and personal care tasks, transportation-related responsibilities, and aiding students in accessing communication tools. Requires 48 college credits or paraprofessional assessment, and possession or eligibility for a Maryland Driver's License; willing to comply with Title I requirements and maintain active licenses/certifications. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and 20% daily travel within the county.
