Job Summary
Supports teachers in implementing educational programs for students in Special Education under direct supervision. Assists with test administration, ARD/IEP paperwork, and data entry for special education reports. Provides differentiated instruction, supervises students during meals, recess, lunch, and events, and assists with planning and implementing instructional activities. Requires Educational Aide certificate or an associate degree or eligibility via THEA, and performs duties to support instructional goals and classroom management as part of a team under the direction of instructional staff.
Required Qualifications
- Educational Aide certificate as established by the State Board for Educator Certification
- Complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (48 semester hours)
- Possess an associate's (or higher) degree; or
- Meet THEA standards verifying knowledge to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics
