Job Summary
Provide instructional support and personal assistance to teachers of students with physical disabilities or intellectual disabilities. Assist the teacher by performing instructional duties, preparing classroom materials, supervising student behavior, learning and applying behavior management techniques, performing clerical duties, and providing assistance with personal hygiene and physical care as required. Operate computer and audiovisual equipment such as DVD, data projector, or smartboards; implement behavior modification plans; support speech-language objectives with students and read to stimulate language development; supervise learning centers and assist with group activities. Must be able to lift/position students and adapt to wide differences in student abilities. Reports to Principal or Assistant Principal. FLSA Status: Non-exempt. Months/Days/Hours: 10 months/187 days/7 hours per day. Salary Range: $22.47- $25.48 per hour (annualized: $46,738 – $52,998). Remote Work Eligible: No.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience as a teacher aide or experience working with children
