Job Summary
Provide instructional support and personal assistance to teachers of students with physical disabilities or intellectual disabilities; assist with lesson plans, prepare classroom materials, supervise student behavior, learn and apply behavior management techniques, implement behavior modification plans, support speech-language objectives, operate audiovisual equipment (DVD, data projector, smartboards), perform clerical duties, and assist with personal hygiene and physical care as required. Work under the supervision of the teacher; reports to Principal or Assistant Principal; 10 months, 187 days, 7 hours per day.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience as a teacher aide or experience working with children
