Job Summary
Provides instructional support and personal assistance to teachers of students with physical disabilities or intellectual disabilities. Assists the teacher by performing instructional duties, preparing classroom materials, supervising student behavior, implementing behavior modification plans, collecting student data, and aiding with personal hygiene and physical care as required. Also supports speech-language activities under the guidance of a speech therapist, operates audio-visual equipment, and collaborates with teachers to meet instructional objectives. Reports to the Principal or Assistant Principal. Hours: 7 hours/day for 187 days in a 10-month schedule; Salary Range: $22.47-$25.28 per hour (annualized to $46,738-$52,582), Non-exempt.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience as a teacher aide or experience working with children
