Job Summary
Teacher Assistant: Special Education at an Annapolis, MD Title I school provides instructional support to students with disabilities under the direction of the classroom teacher. Responsibilities include adapting and implementing instructional activities, aiding in IEP-goal implementation, data collection and documentation, assisting with health care needs and personal care, mobility assistance, transportation, and supporting use of assistive devices. Requires 48 college credits or passing paraprofessional assessment, a high school diploma/equivalency, active/enrollable driver’s license, and daily transportation. Position may be 10 or 12 months with 7-hour workdays; office/school environment with travel within the county (20% daily).
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalency
- 48 college credit hours OR paraprofessional assessment (ETS or NES)
- Possession of or eligibility for Maryland Driver's License (Class C Non-Commercial) and reliable transportation
- Ability to meet IEP goals and work with students with disabilities
- Willingness to work in a Title I-funded school
- Driving requirement to conduct Board business within the county
Desired Qualifications
