Job Summary
Conduct daily and long-range lesson planning, lead small-group learning exercises, and guide students in developing positive peer and adult relationships. Assist with pupil supervision in classrooms, corridors, cafeterias, and on field trips, while supporting special needs regarding toileting, dressing, feeding, and positioning. Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and families to reinforce IEP goals and promote social-emotional development. Correct student work under supervision, operate copying machines, and implement discipline procedures based on individual student needs. Serve as the primary resource for substitute teachers and attend ongoing professional development sessions. Monitor student safety and assist with personal care tasks as required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- 48 college credits
- Passing score of 461 on the ParaPro Test
- Teacher Assistant Training Program Certificate
- Must be available for bus monitoring assignments
