Job Summary
Provide 1:1 instructional support and personal assistance to a student with disabilities under the supervision of a licensed teacher. Responsibilities include preparing classroom materials, supervising behavior, applying behavior management techniques, assisting with daily living skills, collecting and recording data (including skill practice and seizure occurrences), and performing related clerical tasks. Assist with delivering instruction across cognitive, speech and language, fine and gross motor, social-emotional, and daily living skills; read to students, support language development, reinforce concepts, supervise learning centers, and operate classroom technology (DVD, data projector, smartboards). Requires ability to lift and position students as needed and work within a 10-month/187-day/7-hour schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience as a teacher aide or working with children
