Job Summary
Teacher Assistant provides support to the teacher in the instruction of students. duties include academic assistance, individualized instruction, monitoring student work, proctoring during testing, preparing visual aids and instructional materials, arranging classroom furnishings, reporting attendance and student progress, serving as a substitute teacher, and entering data in health records. Must be able to obtain a bus license and serve as a substitute bus driver when needed. Requires ability to operate audiovisual equipment and office machines, create learning aids, follow minimally detailed instructions, maintain confidentiality, and manage student behavior. Strong classroom management and communication skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school
- Associate's degree or 48 semester hours or level Four or higher on all three portions of the WorkKeys exam
- Possession of an equivalent combination of training and experience
