Job Summary
Implement academic lesson plans and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy programs under the direction of the Teacher and BCBA. Deliver one-on-one ABA-based therapy, complete discrete trial training sessions, and take precise data on academic and behavioral progress. Assist students with daily self-help skills, personal hygiene, and sensory exercises while maintaining a clean, safe, and stimulating environment. Escort children to class and off-campus activities, manage crisis situations, and report all behavior problems or unusual circumstances to the Teacher and BCBA. Never leave children unattended and adhere to all policies and procedures. Work independently and as part of a team to develop interventions, participate in in-service days, and model classroom rules and vocabulary.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Be a minimum of eighteen years of age
- Experience working with Special Education Populations
- A licensed and insured driver, with ability to obtain a Missouri Class E driver license
- Pass with satisfactory performance CPR
- Pass with satisfactory performance First Aid
- Pass with satisfactory performance Behavior Intervention training/Mandt
- Pass with satisfactory performance ABA
- Successfully complete a course in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation
- Successfully complete a course in First Aid
- Successfully complete a course in Medication Administration
- Successfully complete a 10 course in MANDT System Workshop
- Successfully complete a course in OSHA regulations on Health and Safety
- Successfully complete a 2 hours course in proper use of lifts, seat belts and tie downs
- Successfully complete courses over Applied Behavior Analysis
- Successfully complete a course over Autism and Communication
- Stand, stoop, lift up to 50 lbs., and pull and push items
- Report suspected abuse or neglect to the Director and appropriate authorities as a Mandated Reporter
- Communicate effectively in oral and written form
