Job Summary
Teacher Assistant position for the 10-month academic year (26-27) beginning 8/5/26. Supports lead teacher by assisting with instruction, conducting one-on-one and small-group activities, monitoring student safety and behavior, maintaining records, and handling clerical duties. Requires high school diploma or GED with substantial college coursework or WorkKeys proficiency; strong organization and ability to assist with special needs students. Full-time with benefits, reports to a Principal and/or lead teacher; duties include classroom setup, material preparation, and collaboration with staff to support quality instruction.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED and a minimum of 48 hours of college level coursework. A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required. Or, completion of the Workkeys tests for Applied Math and score 4; Graphic Literacy and score 4 and Workplace Documents and score 4, plus 96 contact hours in reading, writing, math strategies, working with special needs and technology. Community colleges offer Workkey testing and can advise on the 96 contact hours of professional development to support learning in the classroom.
