Job Summary
Conduct education, laughter, art, stories, and hugs in the Mahnomen Early Head Start classroom. Support young children through developmentally appropriate practices while maintaining confidentiality and working cooperatively with staff and parents. Handle typical and unexpected classroom situations using common sense solutions. Complete a full-time, non-exempt day shift application with two work-related letters of reference and DHS Net Study clearance. Attain CDA and CDL certifications.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma (or GED)
- Technical/Vocational certificate
- Knowledge of early childhood development
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for the classroom
- Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
- Basic math skills
- Ability to apply common sense solutions in standardized situations
- Ability to work in a positive and cooperative manner with children, staff and parents
- Ability to effectively and professionally deal with typical and unexpected classroom situations
- Ability to honor private/confidential information
- Basic computer skills including working with e-mail, internet, data entry, computer files, databases and/or web-based programs
- Valid drivers' license
- DHS Net Study clearance
- Availability for full-time work
- Must be willing to attain CDA
- Must be willing to earn a CDL
