Job Summary
Works under the guidance of certified teachers in a Pre-K to 12 setting. Assists in supervising students through the day’s activities, creates individualized learning materials, and modifies existing curriculum for access to general education. Implements motor/mobility plans given by Occupational Therapist and Physical Therapist while supervised by a certified teacher. Assists group at lunch/recess and with specified accommodations. Performs routine clerical duties (duplication of learning materials, bulletin boards, inventories, filing), assists with personal care (toileting, feeding), and supervises students for portions of classroom time. Follows specified daily lesson plans from the certified teacher. Participates in professional development offered by the Special Education Department and serves as a member of the IEP team for students served. Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or Director of Special Education. Salary: 180 days, as established by the Board of Education.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree or higher OR Two years or 48 College Credit Hours (transcript verification required) OR High School Diploma/GED AND Verification of WorkKeys Scores* AND 12 Early Childhood College Credit Hours OR Completion of an Early Childhood Training Program
