Job Summary
Teacher Assistant for In-School Suspension (ISS) program responsible for supervising students in the ISS classroom, taking daily attendance, reinforcing policies, supporting behavior-management discussions, monitoring student work and tests, ensuring student safety (including escorts to facilities), coordinating work requests with teachers, and driving a bus as needed. Requires knowledge of school rules, strong interpersonal skills and patience, ability to maintain a disciplined academic environment, and experience working with students. Associate’s degree or 48 semester hours and bus license required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or 48 semester hours
- Operating knowledge of computers
- Experience in working with high school age children
- Must be able to handle and react to potential volatile situations and take appropriate action
- Obtain and maintain a bus license and drive as needed
