Job Summary
Teacher Assistant II for Early Head Start program providing educational support for children ages 2-3, ensuring developmental goals are met through structured activities and compliance with health and safety standards, requiring relevant educational credentials and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Must have 6 units of infant/toddler (At least 3 semester units required at hire)
- AA in Early Child Education/Child Development with 24 units in CD OR AA in related field with 24 CD units
- Must pass fingerprint clearance, background check
- TB clearance within 6 months prior
- Annual Influenza vaccination
- Pertussis and measles immunization
- Health screening at the time of employment
- Ability to interact with children in a busy environment including lifting up to 50 lbs
- Frequent kneeling and squatting
- Ability to move quickly
Desired Qualifications
- AA in ECE/CD with 24 units in CD or AA in related field with 24 CD units, including 6 units of infant/toddler for EHS
- Associate Teacher Child Development Permit or higher
- 1 year of teaching experience
- Head Start performance standards
- Creative curriculum
- Licensing regulations
- Bilingual English and Spanish (written and verbal)
