Job Summary
Assist in student learning and behavior management by working with small groups of children with special needs and facilitating behavior intervention plans. Provide academic support in one-on-one and small group situations, develop effective relationships with children having special needs, and maintain accurate records of learning materials. Perform related duties including lunch and recess duty, reasonable classroom coverage, inventories, correcting papers, and assisting in PT/OT programs under the supervision of licensed therapists when necessary. Adhere to prescribed classroom procedures and follow oral and written instructions from the immediate Supervisor or Administrator.
Required Qualifications
- Instructional nature in a classroom setting
- Work with individuals and/or small groups of students
- Experience with students who have mental, physical and/or emotional disabilities
- Assist in student learning
- Behavior management
- Carry out duties deemed necessary by the immediate Supervisor or Administrator
- Work with small groups of children with special needs
- Facilitate behavior intervention plans
- Assist in the academic support in one on one and small group situations
