Job Summary
Assist in classroom and student management while maintaining discipline and monitoring safety across all school areas. Deliver group and individualized instruction, prepare visual aids, and assess student work as directed by teachers. Distribute instructional materials, support digital age learning, and encourage academic growth for all students, including those with exceptional needs. Record student behavior and progress data while following all OCS rules, policies, and state regulations. Maintain confidentiality and model ethical behavior. Requires standing over six hours, lifting up to 100 pounds, and facilitating emergency evacuations. Full-time role for 10 months with a 2.5 GPA and Associate's Degree in Education required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university required (must include an emphasis in mathematics, reading, writing and content knowledge)
- Minimum 2.5 GPA required
- ETTP course completion and dated certificate must be obtained within the first school year of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Two year Associate's Degree in Education preferred
- Working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with children
- Working knowledge of the core subjects at the grade level
- Knowledge of the school organization and its community
- Basic knowledge of expected behavior of children, that is, basic characteristics of ages and stages
- Ability to operate a variety of technology
- Ability to work cooperatively with other school personnel
- Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations
- Ability to solve independently most minor problems
- Ability to follow minimally detailed written and oral instructions without constant supervision
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information
