Job Summary
Teacher Assistant in Early Head Start provides direct care to children in a group setting as assigned by the Lead Teacher, assists with daily classroom instruction per NAEYC and COA standards and state licensing; conducts developmental screenings and uses ASQ/ASQ-SE and Teaching Strategies Gold; helps write weekly lesson plans based on each child’s interests and needs; observes progress related to IEP/IFSP and documents transitions; supports positive guidance and maintains appropriate teacher-child ratios; collaborates with staff, participates in trainings and staffings, and assists in transporting children on agency buses; maintains confidentiality of child/family information and contributes to quality assurance efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- CDA credential
- Minimum of one year of professional experience working with young children in a child-care setting
- CPR/First Aid certifications preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Desired Qualifications
