Job Summary
The Teacher Assistant supports faculty and students by providing academic and administrative assistance, fostering a positive learning environment, and engaging in mentorship activities. Responsibilities include tutoring students, leading discussions, assisting with laboratory sessions, and setting up equipment for lectures. Candidates must hold a relevant certification and possess strong technical skills, including computer applications and LMS experience. A degree is preferred but not required initially, with eligibility to teach contingent upon earning an appropriate degree.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a related certification (e.g., RVT, RDCS, RDMS, CCI, ARRT, MRI/ARRT/ARMRIT) and/or SPI
- Must have strong technical skills, including all computer applications, internet research, database management, and analytical skills
- Must complete training on campus two weeks before starting the mentorship program
- Must earn at least four years of practical work experience in the field to be eligible to teach as a faculty member
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Canvas or related LMS usage for instruction (assignments, quizzes, discussion boards, gradebook, modules)
