Job Summary
Implement and monitor IEP goals, objectives, and curriculum for assigned students under Lead Teacher supervision. Assist with physical positioning, changing, and toileting as needed. Document progress on specific goals and reinforce objectives during non-lesson times. Communicate with students using oral, visual, auditory, and kinesthetic modalities across all settings. Plan and prepare the classroom environment while maintaining order and cleanliness. Perform duties in the absence of the Lead Teacher and respond to students with a caring, supportive, and respectful manner. Utilize supervisors when unsure of procedures and follow all instructions from teachers and therapists.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a completed High School Diploma or GED
- An Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Paraprofessional Education, Elementary Education, Physical Education, or any other related fields
- Experience in working with children or adults with disabilities
- Successful completion of ParaPro and Teacher Assistant Training
- any equivalent combination of education and experience
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of one year of teaching assistant experience
