Job Summary
Assist the Lead Teacher in providing a comprehensive, educationally sound program for infants and children aged 6 weeks through 5 years in both group and individual settings. Communicate effectively with infants, children, adults, parents, and other early childhood professionals while maintaining constant interaction with the general public. Perform daily tasks including frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting or moving children and equipment up to 50 lbs. Respond quickly and calmly to crises, manage exposure to infectious materials common in childcare environments, and work flexible hours based on department needs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED
- CPR and First Aid certification by the National Safety Council
- Communicates effectively with infants, children and adults
- strong oral and written skills
- a mature individual who can work independently
- Must be able to withstand outdoor temperatures in all seasons of the year
- Must be able to move quickly to assist and interact with children
- Must be compassionate and understand the needs of the children
- Must be able to respond quickly, calmly and effectively in a crisis
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs without restrictions
- Corrected hearing and vision to normal range
- Must be able to withstand outdoor temperatures in all seasons of the year
Desired Qualifications
- Six months experience in a child-care center
