Job Summary
Assist the Head Start Teacher with observing, documenting, and assessing student progress for children ages 3 to 5. Create and implement individualized lesson plans based on student data, interests, and developmental practices while developing meaningful relationships with children and families. Engage families in program services, conduct conferences, and perform home visits to promote parenting skills and confidence. Maintain clean, safe, and engaging indoor and outdoor learning environments in compliance with State Licensing and Head Start standards. Attend regular staff meetings and professional development days. Requires a valid Indiana driver's license, current CDA enrollment or degree program enrollment, and 1-2 years of experience. Required Qualifications
- Proof of current enrollment in a Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate program, OR enrollment in or completion of an Associate or Bachelor's degree program
- Must have a valid Indiana driver's license and the ability to meet the minimum requirements of the insurance carrier at all times
- 1-2 years previous experience
- Commitment to serving children and families in poverty with the highest quality services
- Willingness to learn and apply new knowledge
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of child development and health and safety standards
- Ability to create effective lesson plans that promote development
- Organization and time management
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to fluently communicate in Spanish is a plus
