Job Summary
Develop and maintain an empathetic attitude toward disabled students while working cooperatively with others in a positive manner. Learn specialized instructional and management techniques as needed, and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff. Maintain current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and First Aid certification. This 10-month position in a Secondary Adapted program requires candidates to be on the RCPS approved driving list.
Required Qualifications
- ability to develop and maintain an empathetic attitude toward disabled students
- work cooperatively with others in a positive manner
- willing to learn specialized instructional/management techniques with disabled students, as needed
- willing to seek and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator(AED)/First Aid certification
- ability to communicate and develop effective working relationships with students, parents, and staff
- Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school or General Education Development Certificate (GED)
- Two years of college, 12 undergraduate credits in math/English or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment
