Job Summary
Assist the lead teacher in Head Start preschool classrooms for ages 3-5, supporting health, nutrition, mental health, self-awareness and self-concept; help set up the classroom, take notes, prepare materials, create learning centers, plan meaningful learning activities, and assist with independent skill-building and behavior management. Also support meal/snack delivery and safe food handling, supervise bus activities with the bus driver, greet parents, attend required trainings, and maintain confidentiality. Must have a high school diploma or GED; may need a CDA credential; complete First Aid/CPR within 3 months; and pass required background screening. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and collaborate with a diverse team is required.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency
- Must be willing to obtain a CDA (Child Development Associate) Credential if required
- Must be willing to complete First Aid and CPR certification within the first 3 months
- Must complete mandatory background screens as part of your employment in a Head Start Preschool program
