Job Summary
Coordinate instructional efforts with classroom teachers and supervise students in classrooms, cafeterias, libraries, and playgrounds. Operate media and technology equipment including computers, projectors, and copy machines while assisting with lesson assignments, grading, and parent conferences. Maintain classroom cleanliness and uphold general department standards. Drive a school bus when required, holding a CDL license. Work 35 hours weekly as a Teacher Assistant with an additional 4.5-hour AM bus driver shift available starting August 10, 2026. Earn $16.93/hour for the Assistant role or $17.95/hour for the Driver role.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school
- Three to six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of basic needs and developmental stages of children
- Knowledge of typical behavioral patterns and issues as it deals with children
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic
- Ability to operate various media and technology equipment such as computer, television, VCR, cassette player, overhead projector, laminator, copy machine and various other office equipment
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and parents
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department heads, employees, and the general public
- Required to obtain a CDL and Bus License
- Required to serve as a substitute bus driver and/or regular bus route driver
- Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, hearing, talking, and repetitive motions
- Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Must be able to obtain a CDL in order to drive a school bus
