Job Summary
Assists in the instruction of students under limited supervision, providing group and individualized academic support, preparing visual aids and instructional materials, proctoring tests, managing classroom activities, and recording attendance and student data. Collaborates with the teacher and principal to reinforce instruction, promotes positive behavior, and helps maintain confidential student information. Requires physical ability to lift/move objects and strong communication skills to convey instructions and support student learning.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in education or equivalent; for NCPK Teacher Assistants, high school diploma or its equivalent with either (1) Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or (2) working toward an Associate Degree or higher in birth-through-kindergarten, child development, early childhood education, or an early childhood education-related field.
