Job Summary
Coordinate instructional efforts with classroom teachers and supervise students in cafeterias, libraries, playgrounds, and restrooms. Plan teaching aids, operate media and technology equipment, and assist with grading, filing records, and parent conferences. Maintain classroom cleanliness and support department staff as requested. Drive a school bus when required, holding a valid CDL license. Work 30 hours weekly for 10 months at Davidson County Schools, reporting to a principal.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school
- Three to six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of basic needs and developmental stages of children
- Knowledge of typical behavioral patterns and issues as it deals with children
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic
- Ability to operate various media and technology equipment such as computer, television, VCR, cassette player, overhead projector, laminator, copy machine and various other office equipment
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and parents
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department heads, employees, and the general public
- Must obtain a CDL license
- Must obtain a Bus License
- Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, hearing, talking, and repetitive motions
- Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Must be available for bus substitute work starting 8/10/2026
