Job Summary
Provides academic assistance and supports the teacher in instruction of students. Performs a wide range of tasks to support the teaching-learning process, including individualized instruction, monitoring student work, preparing instructional materials and visual aids, and serving as a substitute teacher and proctor as needed. May be required to obtain a bus license and act as a substitute bus driver when needed. Demonstrates judgment within established policy and learns to follow detailed instructions under supervision. Skills include operating audiovisual equipment, creating learning aids, record-keeping for attendance and health data, and applying classroom management techniques to reinforce positive behavior and student progress.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school
- Associate's degree or successful completion of 48 semester hours or equivalent WorkKeys scores (Applied Math, Graphic Literacy, Workplace Documents)
