Job Summary
Assist in planning and implementing learning opportunities that support children's social, emotional, cognitive, physical growth and development while acting as a resource for parents. Conduct daily health checks, ensure classroom environments are clean and safe, and facilitate positive relationships within the group. Assist in developing and executing individualized activity plans, daily schedules, and transitions, including planning effective field trips. Maintain and update records for all enrolled children and communicate effectively with parents to promote involvement. Develop nurturing bonds with infants and toddlers in Early Head Start settings through collaboration with families and developmental team members. Perform duties across multiple centers while adhering to Head Start Program and Performance Standards.
Required Qualifications
- A working knowledge and understanding of early childhood development and education
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents and include them in their child's learning process
- Knowledge of organizational skills to facilitate meeting designated timelines
- Positive attitude, relationship building and interpersonal skills with student's staff and families inside the classroom and Center environment
- Ability to lift 40lbs
- A high school diploma/GED and a minimum of six (6) college credit hours in any field
- Must be able to assist at multiple centers
