Job Summary
Care for, supervise, and ensure the safety of center children while assisting staff in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly classroom and playground by following all program policies and developmentally appropriate practices. Provide compassionate support to children and families from all backgrounds. Work 35-37 hours weekly across multiple Connecticut locations, including New London, Taftville, Groton, and Griswold, covering operational hours from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM on a rotational basis. Obtain and maintain required certifications in pediatric first-aid, CPR, AED, and medication administration.
Required Qualifications
- Have access to reliable, insured transportation
- Provide a TVCCA Staff Statement of Good Health signed by a physician, physician's assistant, or nurse practitioner completed within twelve (12) months before the date of employment, and every Thirty-six (36) months for current staff
- Must have or obtain and maintain CT Childcare Pediatric First-Aid, CPR, AED and medication administration certification
- Must have or obtain within 90 days of hire the Care 4 Kids Health and Safety Training
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50lbs
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Be able to work 35-37 hours/week, 52 weeks/year
- The TVCCA Little Learners Early Education Program requires staff to be available from 7:00AM – 5:00PM to cover center operational hours on a rotational basis
- Strong Computer skills
- ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, staff and volunteers
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
