Job Summary
The Teacher’s Aide provides instructional support and direct services to students, assisting in classrooms and on field trips under the supervision of a teacher. Responsibilities include supervising students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, and gymnasiums; tutoring and assisting children individually or in small groups; enforcing school policies; coordinating instructional efforts with teachers; instructing and monitoring use of equipment and materials; delivering subject matter under teacher guidance through lectures, discussions, or supervised role-playing; observing and recording student progress; preparing lesson materials, displays, exhibits, and demonstrations; organizing and supervising recreational activities; attending staff meetings and service on committees; and performing other duties as assigned. Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, potential related experience, and an appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills and proficiency in English.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Related experience in similar position is preferred
- Requires an appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings
- Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church
- Organizational/Interpersonal Skills: Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are required
- Language/Communication Skills: The ability to communicate, listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
- The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
- Strong command of both written and spoken English language
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift at least 15 pounds. Physical demands include balancing, carrying, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, stooping, talking and walking
