Job Summary
Conduct daily classroom supervision and support a developmentally appropriate curriculum for young children. Maintain a safe, healthy, and clean environment by monitoring child counts, preventing misbehavior, and following center procedures. Facilitate active learning through encouragement, language modeling, and consistent behavioral guidance while assisting staff with lesson plans and individualization tasks. Ensure confidentiality and participate in required agency training and background screenings. Work 20-25 hours per week with a high school diploma and one year of experience with young children preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of paid or volunteer experience in working with young children
- Knowledgeable about child growth and development
- Needs of children
- Ability to communicate with children
- Ability to communicate with adults
- Participation in agency training events
- Pass state DHS fingerprinting process
- Pre-employment drug screen
- Lifting (over 50 pounds in emergency situations)
- Stooping
- Sitting in child size furniture
- Ability to hear conversations
- Vision adequate to supervise young children
- Must be able to use a ipad & computer
- Reliable transportation
- Must be able to pass a drug test
- Must be able to pass a back ground screening
Desired Qualifications
- CDA credential
- ECE coursework
- CDA or higher education
- Bus driver status
- Computer skills
- Spanish training
