Job Summary
Support children in assigned classrooms by ensuring adequate supervision, maintaining a safe and healthy environment, and implementing developmentally appropriate activities. Provide behavioral guidance, facilitate language acquisition through conversation, and assist staff with lesson plans and individualization tasks while promoting a clean, organized space. Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate reliability when unsupervised. Schedule is 20-25 hours per week. High school diploma and one year of experience with young children required; CDA credential preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of paid or volunteer experience in working with young children
- Knowledgeable about child growth and development
- Needs of children
- Ability to communicate with children
- Ability to communicate with adults
- Participation in agency training events
- Pass state DHS fingerprinting process
- Pre-employment drug screen
- Lifting (over 50 pounds in emergency situations)
- Stooping
- Sitting in child size furniture
- Ability to hear conversations
- Vision adequate to supervise young children
- Must be able to use a ipad & computer
- Reliable transportation
- Must be able to pass a drug test
- Must be able to pass a back ground screening
Desired Qualifications
- CDA credential
- ECE coursework
- CDA or higher education
- Bus driver status
- Computer skills
- Spanish training
