Job Summary
Teacher Aide supports early childhood education by assisting in delivery of curriculum, supervising infants and toddlers, facilitating learning through structured routines and play, participating in mealtime routines, and maintaining a safe, engaging learning environment across multiple classrooms. Responsibilities include supervising children, documenting observations in the data system, collaborating with staff and families, implementing social-emotional strategies, and ensuring safety through emergency procedures. Requires basic computer skills, strong interpersonal abilities, reliability, and a commitment to SEK-CAP, Inc. mission and Head Start principles. Education pathway options include a high school diploma or equivalent with ongoing development toward early childhood credentials, and eligibility to obtain required certifications and clearances. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Enrollment in a program leading to a degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- State-awarded CDA or Infant/Toddler CDA credential or ability to obtain within one year
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Criminal history check
- Valid driver’s license and insurance underwriting
- Physical exam and TB test
- KDHE program approval eligibility
