Job Summary
Conduct reading and math intervention for at-risk students by administering diagnostic instruments, interpreting assessment results, and developing individualized instructional plans. Deliver accelerated instruction to students most likely to fail grade-level expectations while monitoring their progress and growth. Assist classroom teachers in analyzing assessments and design interventions, participate in collaborative conversations for placement decisions, and provide parent support for literacy and math development at home. Compile and maintain all required reports, records, and documents. Manage student behavior according to board policies and IEPs, create a conducive learning environment, and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, and community members. Attend ongoing staff development and faculty meetings as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- A minimum of four years of experience teaching reading/math
Desired Qualifications
- Masters preferred
- Reading and/or math specialization preferred
- Knowledge of reading and/or math accelerated instructional strategies
- Ability to administer and interpret reading/math assessment instruments
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Physically able to monitor student behavior and academic progress and meet other student needs as required
- Physically able to move about the room to perform formative assessments and adequately facilitate small and large group instruction
