Teacher, 9-12 English

Plan and implement a program of study in English that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of assigned students. Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods while creating a classroom environment that provides for student engagement. Diagnose learning challenges regularly, maintain accurate records for IEPs and 504 Plans, and provide an instructional program to meet the needs of all students including those with disabilities and limited English proficiencies. Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to assess progress, and act as a test administrator for the North Carolina Test Program. Meet with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and resolve behavioral and academic challenges. Attend PLC meetings for data analysis and participate in professional development. Perform safety functions and drills to maintain a safe instructional environment. Full-time, 10-month schedule.
