Job Summary
Teaches district-approved curriculum to 8th grade students in English Language Arts and Social Studies, designs and delivers a program of study using varied instructional techniques and media, creates a conducive learning environment, maintains accurate records and progress reports, collaborates with administration to implement policies, and guides student learning toward curriculum goals. Requires ability to diagnose learning needs with district support, strong communication skills with students, parents, and staff, and the capability to meet diverse student needs. Must hold a four-year degree, have major or 24 semester hours in the subject area, pass Praxis II in the subject area, and hold or be able to obtain a valid North Carolina teaching license/certificate.
Required Qualifications
- Four year degree from a college or university
- Major, or 24 semester hours, in subject area to be taught
- Passing score on Praxis II Test in subject area to be taught (Must have already passed Praxis II before being considered for employment in Elementary Education or Exceptional Education)
- Valid N.C. teaching license/certificate, or be able to obtain such
