Job Summary
Teach 5th grade Math in-person; develop and implement lesson plans aligned to district curriculum; assess student learning and use results to plan instruction; collaborate with Special Education staff to modify curricula per IEPs; plan goals with staff, supervise instructional aides and volunteers; manage classroom behavior, maintain records, communicate with parents and community, participate in professional development, and ensure compliance with district/state policies. The role requires a Bachelor's degree, valid Texas teaching certificates (including ESL), and relevant student-teaching or internship experience; on-site duties with no remote work and opportunities for extracurricular sponsorship. Regular school-site responsibilities include lesson planning, assessment, classroom management, and ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate in subject assigned
- Valid Texas Teacher Certificate in English as a Second Language – Required for all Core Subject Teachers
- CTE Teachers: Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Prekindergarten and Kindergarten Teachers: Valid Texas Teaching Certificate in Early Childhood
- Physical Education Teachers: Current AED and CPR certification
- Experience: Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
