Job Summary
The 4th Grade Teacher provides a broad range of teaching services to a targeted student audience, delivering instruction under limited supervision. Responsibilities include planning and delivering lesson schemes aligned with district guidelines and NC standards, assessing student progress, maintaining confidentiality, integrating technology to support instruction, and communicating regularly with students, families, and colleagues. The role requires preparing the classroom, managing behavior, and participating in extracurricular activities and school and parent meetings. The teacher must model effective instructional practices, engage in ongoing professional growth, and collaborate with administration to support safe, standards-aligned educational programming.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university
- North Carolina Standard Professional Educator's License (or working toward licensure)
- Out-of-State license must apply for NC licensure
- Strong understanding of North Carolina Course of Study/Common Core and Essential Standards
- Must demonstrate leadership
- Must establish a respectful environment for a diverse population of students
- Must work collaboratively with families and significant adults in students' lives
- Must uphold the Code of Ethics and Standards for Professional Conduct
