Job Summary
Teaches district-approved curriculum to 4th-grade students, designs and delivers lesson plans using varied instructional techniques and media, creates a conducive learning environment, assesses pupil progress, maintains records and reports, communicates with students, parents, and administrators, and supports district policies. The role requires collaboration with specialists to diagnose learning needs, and adherence to state/federal regulations. Requires a four-year degree, Praxis II in the taught subject, and a valid NC teaching license or eligibility to obtain one. The position emphasizes instructional planning, student development, safety, and ability to adapt lessons to meet diverse student needs, including potential collaboration with special needs students when applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Four year degree from a college or university
- Major, or 24 semester hours, in subject area to be taught
- Passing score on Praxis II Test in subject area to be taught (Must have already passed Praxis II before being considered for employment in Elementary Education or Exceptional Education)
- Valid NC teaching license/certificate, or be able to obtain such
