Job Summary
Second Grade Teacher sought for Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School to provide a warm, inclusive classroom environment and an engaging educational experience. The role focuses on building strong academic foundations across literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, and the arts, while integrating arts and hands-on learning, restorative practices, and social-emotional learning. Candidates will differentiate instruction for diverse learners, collaborate with grade-level teams and families, and support student growth toward independence and creativity. The ideal candidate will have experience with arts integration, project-based learning, and STEAM education, plus CT Elementary Education certification. Effective classroom management and a commitment to the whole child are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Connecticut State Certification 305 (Elementary Education) or other appropriate Connecticut certification required
- Experience teaching primary elementary students preferred
- Strong instructional practices and classroom management
- Commitment to academic and social-emotional development of young children
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners
- Collaboration with colleagues, families, and support staff
- Incorporation of arts integration and restorative practices into daily instruction
