Job Summary
To plan, organize and present instruction and instructional environments that help students learn subject matter and skills contributing to their educational and social development. Duties include managing instructional time, student behavior, instructional presentation, monitoring student performance, providing feedback, facilitating instruction, and interacting with students, co-workers, parents, and the community. Requires a degree in education or a related area qualifying for North Carolina licensure, and compliance with NCDPI qualifications; responsibilities also include performing non-instructional duties and maintaining safety and order in the classroom.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in education or in a related area that will qualify for licensure as a teacher by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction
- Must not be on the NCDPI list of teachers no longer qualified to teach and/or must not be currently engaged in a certification revocation hearing process
