Job Summary
Provide special education instruction and related services to students under IEPs; develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and instructional materials; work in self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacity as assigned; collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEPs; implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs; assess student learning styles and use varied instructional techniques and media; participate in IEP committee meetings; manage classroom environment and supervise instructional aides; maintain records and communicate with parents and colleagues; comply with regulations and participate in staff development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate that matches the content area and grade level of the assignment
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments
